ABOUT

The Company

Green Stock Media was created to visually promote the broad spectrum of environmental and sustainability issues, one image at a time. With demand growing for environmental information on a global scale publishers need fast access to high quality images documenting environmental problems, sustainable solutions, and the beauty and importance of nature. We are here to fill that need.

The three overlapping circles in the Green Stock Media logo symbolize the importance and interconnectedness of ecology, equity, and economy (the three E's), the overarching areas that need our attention in order to progress towards a more sustainable existence. The logo is also a reference to the concept of reduce, reuse, and recycle (the three R's).

History

In 2006 Mike Kahn created Green Stock Media to fuse his interests in visual media and the environment. As well as contributing his own images, Mike began representing the work of a growing number of photographers in order to amass a significant body of work. However, the explosion of stock photography and downward pressure on pricing made profitability difficult. In 2013 Mike decided to stop representing the work of other photographers and to focus on his own environmental media projects. So, Green Stock Media will continue to sell his work and may evolve to include more journalistic ventures.
