ABOUT

The Company

Green Stock Media was created to visually promote the broad spectrum of environmental and sustainability issues, one image at a time. With demand growing for environmental information on a global scale publishers need fast access to high quality images documenting environmental problems, sustainable solutions, and the beauty and importance of nature. We are here to fill that need.

The three overlapping circles in the logo symbolize the importance and interconnectedness of ecology, equity, and economy (the three E's), the overarching areas that need our attention in order to progress towards a more sustainable existence. The logo is also a reference to the concept of reduce, reuse, and recycle (the three R's).

The Founder

Mike Kahn's career has focused at the crossroads of environmental education and digital media. Mike continues to work part-time for EcoIQ, a company promoting sustainability via a speakers bureau, EcoSpeakers.com, and a stock video footage agency, EcoFootage.com. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from U.C. Berkeley and an Associate's degree in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of California - San Francisco. Fun fact: In 2000 Mike road his bicycle 5,125 miles from California to Maine taking digital photos and posting them to his natural science education website. His electronic gear was powered by solar panels attached to his bike.

Brian Pidduck stock photographer.

Brian Pidduck

Brian Pidduck is a photographer and teacher of environmental science. Brian uses his knowledge, travels and camera to show the beauty of our world and its increasing fragility. Born and raised in Southern California, Brian learned a love of the outdoors early on. College at Whitman in Walla Walla, Washington, field trips in the geology department (from Montana to Pakistan), alpine guiding for Exum Mountain Guides in the Teton Range of Wyoming, and personal adventures from Alaska to the Galapagos have given him plenty of opportunities to develop that love of the natural world and a growing appreciation for the many factors, large and small, threatening the environment.
