General Info

What web browsers are compatible with your site?

Our static web pages, like this one, should be viewable with most web browsers with minor exceptions. The image galleries, powered by PhotoShelter, are much more technologically advanced and require the use of up-to-date versions of standards-compliant web browsers. PhotoShelter recommends using the latest stable release of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. For more detailed information on PhotoShelter browser compatibility for PC, Mac, and Linux click here.

Image Buyers

Why do I have to register for PhotoShelter to make a purchase?

For Rights Managed (RM) image pricing you must first create a free PhotoShelter account. This requirement ensures that Green Stock Media is aware of who is trying to license an image, and that the buyer is a legitimate person. Registering is free and simple.

For Royalty Free (RF) image sales you can add images to your cart without having an account. Upon checkout, PhotoShelter will create a free account for you using the e-mail and password that you specify.

There are many benefits to having a free PhotoShelter account. It allows you to set up and maintain personal lightboxes, access special password-protected galleries, buy prints, and license images.

What's a lightbox?

A lightbox allows you to store images that you want to keep track of in a personalized repository on PhotoShelter. You can add any image to your lightbox, regardless of whether it has been priced for sale. You can also make comments in your lightbox, if for example, you are researching images for a project. You can share the lightbox with other users by providing an e-mail address. Lightboxes are a great way to collaborate with others when discussing a set of images. You must create a free PhotoShelter account to save your lightbox. Click on the Lightbox link at the top of any page to create an account and manage your lightbox. For details go to PhotoShelter's Lightbox help page.

What does Rights Managed mean?

A Rights Managed (RM) license means an image is priced and purchased for a specific explicit purpose. For example, purchasing an image for editorial publication at 1/4 page size on an inside page of a U.S. national magazine with a circulation of 50,000 is a specific purpose. An appropriate Rights Managed fee will be determined base on that useage. Once the terms are agreed and the fee is paid the image will be made available for download. For additional information on Green Stock Media's Rights Managed purchase process powered by PhotoShelter click here. For the terms and conditions see the PhotoShelter Rights Managed Image and Film License Agreement. The purchase of a Rights Managed images does not confer the copyright to you, unless it is explicitly purchased.

What does Royalty Free mean?

A Royalty Free (RF) license allows you to purchase downloadable images for unlimited use according to the terms and conditions of the PhotoShelter Royalty Free Image and Film License Agreement. These images will be available to download for 96 hours after your purchase. Royalty Free images are purchased just like regular prints (except no shipping charges!). The purchase of a Royalty Free image does not confer the copyright to you.
